KidMo Children's Ministry
We understand that everyone has a different learning style, so we pour our resources into making the message engaging and fun. Age appropriate games, activities, skits, songs and videos are all part of a typical hour. We bring the fullness of our creativity to encourage your children into a life-long journey of inquiry and discovery of God. KidMo is a safe place for your child.
KidMo is for children from birth through 6th grade and is held during our service at 6:00 pm. All kids are invited to KidMo from the very first day that they come to Mosaic with you. Just stop by our Welcome Center and someone will answer any questions you may have and direct you to your child’s class.
If your kids haven't discovered the fantastic world called KidMo, come see it. If you still choose to keep your children with you during the service, it's OK to step out with them if they become unsettled.
**Note: More information on our various ministries coming soon.**
Is Mosaic for me?
Stacy is a twenty nine year old stay at home mom. She has a three year old boy, and a one year old daughter she looks after. Most days she loves being a stay at home mom. She does have her moments. At times she longs for more adult interaction. Talking about Elmo and changing diapers just doesn't cut it all the time. She is a smart young woman. Stacy has a passion for learning. When her husband comes home He is very supportive. When morning comes she goes through the same cycle again. In a quest to find meaning and significance beyond her kids Stacy has turned to books. She is very interested in the Dhali Lahma. She loves his compassion and concern for social justice. She has also read Deepak Chopra, and Joel Olsteen. The more Stacy learns the more questions she has. She went to church with a friend hoping to find answers. She left feeling judged and blamed. She decided that church is not for her. Is Mosaic a place for Stacy?
At Mosaic, Stacy will find a place that believes in acceptance. On any given Sunday you will find a place open to discussion and dialogue in your search for truth. Everyone matters to God and therefore they matter to us. So no matter where you are on your spiritual journey, Mosaic welcomes you.
Tim is a hard working network Engineer for a major computer company just outside D.C. Tim makes a good living supporting his wife and three kids. He is satisfied in his work and his family. Sometimes Tim thinks about doing something more for the world. He donates a portion of His paycheck to the United Way and that gives Him some satisfaction. But Tim is a hands-on guy. Tim wants to help people in a direct way that will not take up much of his time away from his kids. Tim's greatest dilemma is where does he start. He has so many concerns. Poverty, crime, discrimination, aids, the next generation. Not only does Tim want to change the world he wants his kids to become active in social change. Can Mosaic help them change the world?
At Mosaic, Tim will find a community of people passionate about making a positive impact on the world. We believe that we are the hands and feet of God to a hurting world. Mosaic not only encourages you to discover where God has gifted you to make a difference, but will help you on your road to discovery and will support your efforts.
Jorge was in search for a better life for his family. He brought his wife and son from Mexico to Culpeper to search for that better life. Jorge found a job working for a construction company. He notices that the only people that seem to accept him and his family are Latino. Jorge is hard working moral man who wants his son to become a good man. Jorge wants to find a place for his son to learn right from wrong and his family to feel accepted. Does Mosaic offer the Hispanic community any hope?
At Mosaic Jorge will find a place that accepts people of all colors, shapes, and sizes. No matter your nationality or skin color, you matter to God. You have a place at Mosaic and so do your kids, because we believe your kids matter to God too. So, at Mosaic, you’ll find a place that loves and cares about kids and provides help for parents.
James has a troubled past. He's been in and out of jail for the past five years. Originally he was incarcerated for a drug possession and released. James was placed on probation and could never seem to satisfy his probation officer. He has been sent back to jail numerous times for the violations. Out again James seems serious about change. He is drug free and just got a job repairing lawn mowers. Often lonely and scared, James is in need of guidance, and friendship. Most people see the tattoos and scars from the life he has lived and shut him out of their lives. James believes the last place he will find acceptance is church. Will Mosaic shut the door on James?
At Mosaic James will find a place that cares about what’s on the inside not the outside. No matter what you’ve done, where you’ve been, or what you look like, we’re all in the same boat. We’ve all done things that we’re not proud of, maybe we just hadn’t got caught. At Mosaic we’re here to help you find hope and forgiveness. That’s what you’ll find at Mosaic.
Lisa just graduated from college and moved in with her boyfriend whom she loves very much. The local elementary school just hired her as the new third grade teacher. She loves her job and is excited about her future. Lisa comes from a very religious family who always attends church. They ask her why she won't go to church. Lisa's been to church all her life. She's had enough church. The judgmental attitudes, the arrogant teaching, and better than you speeches is not for her. She reads her Bible and prays daily. Lisa often tells her boyfriend about how much God has helped her. All of her friends can see the deep rooted faith she has. Her family thinks that in order to be a "good Christian" she must attend church. Lisa could never see herself in church again. Why should Lisa attend Mosaic?
At Mosaic, Lisa will find a place where people are real, authentic, and honest. In fact we say up front, “No perfect people allowed.” No masks worn here. At Mosaic we hate gossip, judgmental attitudes and boring, “better-than-you” preaching. We’re just real people in a real world that God is forming into His masterpiece. So come as you are because God loves you “as is”.
